Brothers kill stepmother

GUJRANWALA, April 18: Two brothers allegedly killed their stepmother over agricultural land dispute in Dilawer Cheema, Wazirabad, on Tuesday.

Accused Tariq and Shahid asked their father Allah Ditta to divorce their stepmother Abida and distribute land between them. But he rejected their proposal. They tied him with a rope to kill him.

In the meantime, the woman raised an alarm. The two left their father and killed their stepmother.

Police removed the body for autopsy. No arrest has so far been made.

RESIGNATION: Divisional Public School (DPS) principal Ansar Ali on Tuesday tendered his resignation after differences with the district administration.

Reports said Mr Ali presented his resignation to administrative committee of the school. District Coordination Officer Manzer Hayat is the head of the committee.

Sources said the principal had differences with the district administration over admission of some students without merit and construction work of sports complex.

When contacted, the principal was not available at his office. However, a member of the committee confirmed the resignation.
