LAHORE: A civil court judge in Lahore has restrained Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) secretary general Rana Mujahid from issuing any official order till the decision of the suit filed in the court against ex-PHF president retired Brig Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, by Syed Haider Hussain who claims himself as legal secretary of the federation.

“Status quo, qua the functions of the office of General Secretary office be maintained. Further restrained to pass any fresh order under the capacity of General Secretary PHF as this office is under dispute (under litigation) till the decision of this suit,” the civil judge said in the order issued on Monday.

Haider maintains that he did not tender resignation as PHF secretary in October 2023 as claimed by then PHF president retired Brig Khalid Sajjad Khokhar.

Brig Khokhar had issued a press statement on Oct 18, 2023, claiming that Haider had tendered his resignation which the former had accepted. Later, however, Haider moved a civil court against this claim. In Haider’s place, the Khokhar-led PHF made Mujahid the secretary.

However, Mujahid did not appear before the civil court against Haider’s claim as bailiff was sent to arrest Rana Mujahid last October to bring him before the court.

But Mujahid was not present in the PHF offices. Later, he appeared in the court. Now in the Jan 6, 2025 order, the judge restrained Mujahid from issuing any official order as secretary general.
