LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a change of venue and dates for the players’ draft ceremony for the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Tuesday.

The ceremony, initially scheduled to take place in Gwadar, Balochistan, on Jan 11, will now be held at Huzuri Bagh, Lahore Fort, on Jan 13. The PCB cited logistical problems as the reason for the change.

The ceremony is set to begin at 12:30 pm. The PCB has also revised the schedule for this edition of the PSL, which will now take place in April-May, instead of the traditional February-March period.

The change in dates is due to Pakistan’s hosting of the ICC Champions Trophy from Feb 19 to March 9.

Although the new PSL schedule will clash with the Indian Premier League (IPL), the PCB is optimistic that more top players will be available for the PSL, having not secured spots in any IPL teams.

The PCB also announced that the trophy tour scheduled in March will now feature Gwadar as a key location on its route across Pakistan.
