KHYBER: Unknown miscreants torched the newly-built house of Awami National Party’s Khyber president in Tirah Valley late on Saturday evening.

Abdur Raziq, who was only recently elected as president of ANP Khyber district, told reporters that armed miscreants first occupied his multi-storey house in Tirah and later put it on fire.

He said that though there was no one from his family at the house at the time of arson, he was not allowed by some unknown men to shift his personal belongings from the newly-constructed house a few days ago as he felt threatened by the suspected militants in the region.

He said that unidentified miscreants had also planted explosives inside his house prior to putting it on fire, which reduced the building into ashes.
