DADU, April 17: A group of jobless graduates of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, University of Sindh, Sindh Agriculture University, Shah Abdul Latif University and other colleges and universities of the province marched from Noorani Chowk to the local press club on Monday to protest against the Zamzama oil and gas plant, Johi, for their failure to carry out an agreement for not giving them jobs and for mega development projects in areas from where the gas is being produced.
They were led by the president of the District Social Welfare Action Committee Youth, Dadu, Nadeem Ahmed Ghaloo, and jobless graduates Imtiaz Ahmed Bughio, Aijaz Memon, Faisal Ranjhani, Zeeshan Memon, Umer Memon, Ayaz Surhio and others.
They said that they were holding protest rallies in Dadu since April 10, against officials of the Zamzama gas plant for acceptance their just demands.
A grower, Khamiso Panhwar, also observed a token hunger strike outside the press club against BHP Billiton for denial of compensation for his land acquired by the company.
