HARIPUR, April 17: Despite directives of the NWFP government, the Abbottabad Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has not regularised services of its 59 employees.

In June last year, the MMA-led provincial government had announced to regularise services of contractual staff in all government departments.

A notification was issued in November to the departments asking them to comply with the order.

It is reported that Banu, Kohat, Mardan and Swat boards of intermediate and secondary education issued office orders for regularisation of services of their contractual staff but the Abbottabad board has not taken any step.

Informed sources said that there were four contractual employees working in BPS-17, five in BPS-16, nine in BPS-11, six in BPS-7, 17 in BPS-5, four in BPS-4 and 14 in BPS-1.

Service of these employees, according to the sources, ranged between three years to six years.

It is also reported that the office of the chairman of the board has been lying vacant for six months, affecting the working of the board.
