As the UN Security Council is set to meet over the Israel-Houthi conflict, the open briefing will take place at the UN headquarters later today, Al Jazeera reports, citing the Security Council Report, a not-for-profit group.

Israel requested the meeting following a series of Houthi attacks on the country, including a missile launch that injured 16 people in the Tel Aviv-Jaffa area earlier this month.

The Yemeni rebel group has launched missile and drone attacks on Israel as well as commercial ships in the Red Sea, in a campaign aimed at pressuring the Israeli government to end its war on Gaza.

Israel has responded with strikes on Yemen’s Sanaa and Hodeidah, including an attack that killed at least nine people earlier this month, Al Jazeera notes.
