ISLAMABAD: As the Capital Development Authority is going to auction residential plots in sector C-14 by next month, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Friday visited the sector to inspect ongoing development work and directed CDA to ensure completion of work by February.

He also directed the CDA to ensure timely possession of plots to the allottees.

The booking of plots in Sector C-14 is in progress and it will continue until December 30, while the open draw for allotment will be held on January 14. According to CDA, 236 residential plots, measuring one kanal, will be sold out through balloting and price of each plot is fixed at Rs 60 million.

CDA officials said that so far, the civic agency had received more than 800 application.

While instructing the CDA to expedite the ongoing work, the minster during his visit said that sector C-14 is located at a prime location of Islamabad, which is designed for a better and peaceful lifestyle.

He also directed the authorities concernedto further expedite development work the sector and take step to complete the development works in all stalled sectors.

CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa briefed the Interior Minister about the development work. He said that special priority will be given to Overseas Pakistanis in Sector C-14. CDA chief also briefed the minster about ongoing development work in sector I-12, stating that development in I-12 is also in final stage.

Speaking to Dawn, CDA chief said that pace of development work in sector C-14 has been accelerated and ongoing development work and other allied work would be completed within next few months.

“Let me assure you, we will handover possession letters to people for construction of their houses as soon as their payment plan is completed,” he said and added that people would be starting construction of their house in this sector by the end of next year, after completing their dues by November 2025. The CDA had fixed 10 months payment plan for those, who will get plots through balloting next month.

“This is our commitment with the people that they will plots would be fully developed before completion of their payment plan,” he said and added that in year 2025, the CDA will celebrate completion of several sectors that include C-14, I-12 and I-15.

“Sector development is prime job of CDA,” he said. Asked about poor track record of CDA in sector development he said: “I can’t say about the past, but ongoing development work in sector C-14, I-12, I-15 etc, which is continued with full pace shows our commitment,” he said and added that Interior Minister also monitoring the development work that’s why he visited the sector C-14.
