CHITTAGONG (Bangladesh), April 16: Jason Gillespie gave early blow to Bangladesh when he took three quick wickets for 11 as Bangladesh were out for 197 on the opening day of the second Test on Sunday.

Stuart Macgill and Shane Warn also took three wickets each to help wrap the innings.

Australia were then 76 for one at close of the play. Matthew Hayden was the man out for the visitors, caught off Mohammad Rafique for 29. Philip Jaques was unbeaten on 38 and nightwatchman Jason Gillespie not out on five.

Earlier, MacGill gave away 68 runs to get the wickets while Shane Warne gave away 47 runs.

Debutante spinner Dan Cullen also took his maiden Test wicket when hard-hitting Mashrafe Mortaza was caught behind by Adam Gilchrist for four.

Bangladesh, who won the toss and opted to bat first, lost their first wicket without a run on the board when first-Test centurion Shahriar Nafees was caught at square leg by Brett Lee off Gillespie.

Skipper Habibul Bashar was then superbly caught at point by a tumbling Phil Jaques off Gillespie, who also trapped opener Javed Omar in front of the stumps for two.

Warne, who had been expected to sit out of the game due to a shoulder problem, snapped up the wicket of Mohammad Ashraful for six who sent a catch to Matthew Hayden at slip.

Rajin Saleh added 71 runs before being bowled by MacGill, who also removed Mohammad Rafique.

Warne took the wicket of Aftab Ahmed when Adam Gilchrist caught him behind the wickets.
