Man arrested in rape case

BAHAWALPUR: The Vehari Sadar police arrested a man who allegedly raped a minor boy within two hours’ after the complaint was received on Saturday.

According to police, a brick-kiln labourer of village No 222-EB complained to the police that a man of the same village lured his six-year old son at a deserted place, where he allegedly raped him.

Hearing the boy’s screams, they found him in serious condition and immediately shifted to Vehari DHQ hospital for treatment. The Sadar police registered an FIR under section 376 of PPC and arrested the suspect. The medical examination report from hospital of the victim was awaited.

CAR BURNT: A car was burnt when it caught fire at Basti Balochan Phatak near Lodhran on Multan-Bahawalpur highway on Saturday.

Rescue 1122 said the car caught fire due to the short circuit. The rescuers extinguished the fire but by then the car was burnt. However, its all occupants were rescued.
