TAXILA: Police on Friday apprehended a man on charges of raping a woman on the pretext of marrying her in the limits of Attock police station.

The suspect was exploiting the victim for the last nine months. Police have registered a case against the accused and handed him over to the investigation wing for further investigation.

Meanwhile, Fatehjang police arrested three brothers for stealing motorcycles from commercial and residential areas. The police spokesman said that suspects were involved in lifting motorcycles. Police through human intelligence traced the suspects and recovered three stolen motorcycles from their possession.

Meanwhile, a cook of a local seminary was arrested on Friday on charges of trying to kill a 12-year-old student over some petty dispute in the limits of Attock police station.

Police sources after heated arguments over poor food quality led to quarrel between seminary student Arman Kazim and cook Adnan Bashart and out of rage, the latter attempted to strangle him to death but timely intervention of fellow students saved his life.

Later, police sent the suspect behind the bars after registration of a case against him.
