TOBA TEK SINGH: Additional District and Sessions Judge Faisalabad Munir Hussain Gill handed down life imprisonment and a fine of Rs800,000 on a convict in a murder case.

Convict Muhammad Yasir had murdered one Akbar in 2021 over old enmity in Dijkot.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Rana Tanweer Ahmad awarded life term and fine of Rs1m to one Ayaz Adil of Sahianwala, Chak Jhumra, who had shot dead his sister Amna Bibi a year ago.

MURDER: A man was murdered by three persons after a minor quarrel at a fish farm at Chak 90-GB in the Satiana police area of Faisalabad.

Deceased Muhammad Imtiaz went to the fish farm to purchase fish where he had an exchange of harsh words over some issue with Sada Hussain, Muhammad Boota and their unidentified accomplice. On exchange of harsh words, the suspects opened fire on Imtiaz and shot him dead. Police claimed that one of the suspects, identified as Boota, had been arrested.

KIDNAP: A girl was kidnapped by five suspects from Chak 342-JB, Gojra.

Complainant Farzana Hanif claimed in her FIR her niece Iqra Bibi was alone at home when Abdul Rashid and his four accomplices abducted her away.

ARRESTED: Faisalabad FIA arrested a customs officer red-handed while accepting Rs100,000 bribe.

An FIA spokesperson told the media that a team was supervised by a judicial magistrate and a raid was conducted on the complaint of a citizen.

The complainant had informed through an application that customs anti-smuggling wing superintendent Malik Asif Hussain had demanded the amount from him for clearing imported goods.

The magistrate identified the currency notes marked by him, which were recovered from the suspect.

ENCOUNTER: A robber was shot in an encounter with Lundianwala police of Faisalabad.

Police claimed three bandits were looting the people by setting up a barrier near Chak 459-GB.

When police chased them, they opened fire on policemen who also retaliated. After the firing stopped, police found one of the outlaws injured and arrested his accomplice. Another suspect managed to flee.

Police claimed that the suspect, identified as Zafar Saeed of Nankana Sahib, was injured by receiving bullets fired by his own accomplices and that he was wanted in dozens of robberies. He was shifted to Jaranwala THQ Hospital.

FIRE: A house was gutted in a fire at Makkah Block of Pirmahal.

Reports said Haji Munawar Ali and his family were residing in the UK and their house was locked for the last one year.

The fire erupted in the house over unknown reasons. As a result, furniture and valuables worth millions of rupees were reduced to ashes.

Rescue 1122 firefighters extinguished the fire.
