KARACHI: Police on Tuesday arrested two men for allegedly misbehaving with and resisting a female polio worker who had come to their flat in Nazimabad to administer the vaccine during the ongoing anti-polio drive.

Central SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi said that a polio worker was subjected to an “undesirable attitude” by two men — Mohammed Saad and Shan Mohammed — who misbehaved with her and locked her up in their flat, where she had gone to administer polio drops.

He said that the police came to know about the incident and they raided the flat and recovered her safely.

An FIR, lodged on behalf of the state, said that a police patrol saw some people using abusive language against polio workers and resisting administering polio drops to their children. The law enforcers intervened, rescued the polio worker and arrested the two men.

‘TTP militants’ held

Rangers claimed to have arrested three militants linked with the outlawed Tehreek-i- Taliban Pakistan.

A spokesperson for the paramilitary force identified the suspects as Javed Swati, Shahid Husain and Akbar Zaib Khan and claimed to have recovered arms and explosives from them.
