KARACHI: Teachers suspended

KARACHI, April 15: The Sindh education department has suspended three associate professors of BPS-19, five assistant professors of BPS-18 and 20 lecturers BPS-17 of the Government Girls Degree College Qasimabad, Hyderabad, due to their absence from duty.

Action has also been also initiated against them under RSO 2000 (Removal from Services Ordinance), says a statement issued here on Saturday.

It said that Secretary Education Ghulam Ali Shah Pasha along with other high officials, paid a surprise visit to Government Girls Degree College Qasimabad, Hyderabad, and found these teachers absent from duty.

On the report of the secretary education, Sindh education minister gave approval for the suspension and action under RSO-2000 against 20 lecturers.

The Sindh chief minister and chief secretary being the competent authorities of BPS-18 and 19 respectively have been requested for action against these teachers.—APP
