Ahle Hadith conference postponed

LAHORE, April 13: The Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith (MJAH) has postponed its all-Pakistan Ahle Hadith conference to show solidarity with the families of Karachi blast victim.

The three-day conference was to be held in Sialkot. No new dates have been fixed for the event.

MJAH president Senator Prof Sajid Mir told a press conference here on Thursday that another factor behind the decision was fear of occurrence of some untoward incident when caravans of party activists would travel to Sialkot from all parts of the country in this volatile situation.

He clarified that there was no pressure from any quarter behind the decision.

He differed with MMA president Qazi Husain Ahmad’s opinion that the MQM was involved in the Karachi blast. Nor he would agree with the government version that the incident was a sectarian one.
