Former policeman shot dead in Dera

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Unknown armed motorcyclists shot dead a former policeman on the Dera-Chashma Road near Sheikh Yusuf Adda here on Saturday night.

A police official said that Amjad, 25, a resident of Himmat area, filed a report with the Shorkot police that he along with his brothers Azizullah alias Bugti and Sanaullah was heading home from Dera city on a motorcycle. He said when they reached Dera-Chashma Road two unknown suspects riding a motorcycle forcibly stopped them, and opened fire, killing Azizullah on the spot. He said he and Sanaullah escaped unhurt. He said that the attackers fled the scene after the firing.

The police said that the motive behind the incident was an enmity between the two families, belonging to Paharpur area.

The police said Azizullah was dismissed from the Frontier Reserve Police, Dera.

Meanwhile, a youth was tortured to death in Giloti area, a police official said on Sunday.

He said Asghar Ali Marwat, 43, filed a report with the Giloti police station, stating that unknown suspects tortured and killed his 28-year-old brother, Sayed Khan Marwat. He said that they had no enmity with anyone.

The police registered separate cases in both the incidents and started further investigation.
