Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu has called on the international community to join together and use its collective strength to demand Israel end the illegal occupation of Palestinian territory, and also bring those guilty of genocide in Gaza to justice, Al Jazeera reports.

Commemorating the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Muizzu said the struggle of the Palestinian people is also the struggle of “every Maldivian”.

“We call on the international community to come together and leverage all its political will and economic power to demand an immediate end to Israel’s illegal occupation and hold those responsible for war crimes and genocidal acts accountable,” he said on social media.
