FAISALABAD, April 10: The local police claimed to have arrested four members of a vehicle-lifters gang and recovered 10 cars from their possession. DPO Muhammad Amin Wains told journalists here on Monday that on a tip-off, a police raiding team arrested Sargodha Road ASI Muhammad Farooq for patronising outlaws, particularly gangsters involved in vehicle-snatching.

He said after interrogating the arrested accused the police succeeded in arresting his accomplices — Asad Shah from Bhalwal, Khursheed Khan from Lahore and Tariq Mehmood, and recovered 10 vehicles from their hideouts.

Raids, he said, were being conducted for the arrest of gang’s ring leader Imran Shah and his woman accomplice. Efforts were also being made to locate owners of the lifted vehicles so that cars could be handed over to them.

The DPO said the arrested outlaws had confessed to their crime.
