QUETTA: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rescheduled elections for two constituencies of the Balochistan Assembly — PB-8 Sibi-Lehri and PB-44 Quetta — due to security concerns and a request from the provincial government.

In a notification issued on Tuesday, the ECP announced that the by-election for PB-8 Sibi-Lehri, originally set for Nov 14, will now be held on Nov 17, while the re-polling at 16 polling stations in PB-44 Quetta, which was initially scheduled for Nov 21, will now be conducted on Dec 12.

The decision follows a formal request from the Balochistan government to the ECP, highlighting security concerns and the prevailing law and order situation in the region.
