Arab, Muslim leaders call for unity of Palestinian territories under one state

Arab and Muslim leaders called for the unification of the Israeli-occupied West Bank, the Gaza Strip and annexed east Jerusalem under a Palestinian state, during a summit in Saudi Arabia, AFP reports.

In the summit’s closing statement, the leaders called for “providing all forms of political and diplomatic support to the Palestinian people and to the State of Palestine for achieving Palestinian national unity, and for the effective assumption of its responsibilities over all the occupied Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip, unifying it with the West Bank, including the city of” Jerusalem, which Israel claims as its capital.
