PESHAWAR, April 9: A modern and well-equipped child health institute will be built in in the city’s Hayatabad area, says NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah Khan. He said that a summary was sent to the chief minister and was likely to be approved soon.

He said this while presiding over a meeting held here on Saturday to review progress of health sector projects.

Expressing satisfaction over the pace of development work, he urged authorities concerned to accelerate their efforts for completing all schemes approved in the current ADP before the end of the current fiscal year.

Secretary Health Abdus Samad Khan and Additional Secretary Health Younis Javed attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that of the 132 schemes covered in the current ADP, 113 were ongoing while 19 of them were new.

The meeting was also informed that only eight new schemes awaited approval.

The minister urged the authorities concerned to expedite work for the establishment of a hepatology institute in Peshawar to provide best care for hepatitis patients.

He also ordered the authorities concerned to constitute a committee to look after the project.
