Mysterious explosions in Karachi

KARACHI, April 8: The sounds of two powerful explosions were heard in and around Civil Hospital locality late Saturday night but the police and fire brigade said no incident was reported. The sound of explosions was clear and heard by many people, including the police and fire brigade officials, but they could not find out what had caused the sound.

The Edhi Foundation said that although they had received a number of calls about the explosions, no information about its occurrence and location could be established.

Police said they had combed the whole area but could not verify whether any incident had taken place till late night.

A senior fire brigade officer said that even though the sound had been heard, no call was received from anywhere in the city about any incident.—Staff Reporter
