The Israeli Air Force has announced that it intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) “launched from the east in Syria” overnight, Al Jazeera reports.

It said the UAV was intercepted in Syrian territory before it crossed into Israel.

The Israeli military also announced that sirens were activated at 6:39am local time (04:39am GMT) in the upper Galilee area, with about 10 rockets detected crossing into northern Israel from Lebanon.

Some of the rockets were intercepted, while others dropped into open areas. No casualties, injuries or damage have been reported.
