KARACHI: The provincial government has posted new director general of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), replacing Syed Shujaat Hussain.

According to a notification, Altaf Gohar Memon, a 19-Grade officer, was transferred from the post of additional rehabilitation secretary and posted as KDA DG.

Sources in the KDA said that the former DG had taken several steps to revive and economically strengthen the KDA and added that he also initiated the digitalisation of record of land department which was about to complete.

Besides, they said, the former KDA chief also wrote to the provincial government for introducing Geopgraphic Information System (GIS) and Integrated Financial Management Information System in the KDA.

The sources said that the former DG had also conducted a detailed inquiry into the bogus appointment in KDA and recommended the termination of involved officials from services.
