TAXILA: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Monday urged cadets to follow principles that would take the country on the path of progress and prosperity.

He expressed these views while addressing the annual parents day event at Cadet College Fatehjang where he was the chief guest.

“Our great leader, Quaid-i-Azam, stressed a sound sense of discipline, character-building and solid academic background. To achieve all that, the first obligation of the youth should be to serve themselves, their parents and the state,” he said.

Mr Khan urged youth to follow the motto of Quaid-i-Azam, which was ‘work, work and work’, adding that Quaid-i-Azam always gave a message to students to pay attention to the acquisition of knowledge.

He was of the view that Cadet College Fatehjang was transforming into an institution of excellence and high traditions and providing better education facilities to the youth of Attock district.

He praised the college administration for showing best results in a very short period after its inception and said it was the result of sheer dedication and hardwork by the faculty.

He was of the view that it was a memorable day and teachers, students and their parents deserved accolades for making it a success.

He hoped that the cadets who passed out of college would play an important role in different fields and serve the country and nation.

The Punjab government would continue its support for the development and betterment of the college, he added.

Earlier, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider reviewed the parade. In the end, the chief guest distributed trophies, certificates and prizes to the cadets who performed exceptionally well throughout the year.
