The kingdom’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it condemned “the recent military action targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran” and expressed “deep concern over the escalating tensions and ongoing military activities in the Middle East”, Al Jazeera reports.

The ministry also called for an “immediate ceasefire in Gaza and southern Lebanon” and emphasised “the importance of protecting civilians and the safe return of displaced individuals”.

It urged the release of Israeli captives and Palestinian detainees, as well as the unobstructed delivery of humanitarian aid and full implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions regarding Gaza.
