GUJRANWALA, April 6: A sessions court bailiff recovered two men and a woman from a torture cell being run by police and produced them before the court here on Thursday.
Reports said Kamoki Saddar police picked a woman Razia Bibi, her brother Qamer and nephew Zubair from their houses in connection with a dacoity and detained them in a private torture cell.
Razia’s heirs moved the sessions court for the recovery of detained persons.
Sessions Judge Mazher Hussain Minhas has summoned the SHO concerned and investigating officer in the court on next hearing.
PEN-DOWN STRIKE: The All Pakistan Clerks Association and low-paid employees’ union went on a token pen-down strike to press for their demands here on Thursday.
These employees stayed away from their official work and held meetings outside their respective offices. They sought acceptance of their demands.
Union leaders Rana Manzoor Ahmad, Muhammad Iqbal Gondal and Rana Muhammad Awais visited various offices and expressed satisfaction over the strike by the employees.
They announced that the unions would observe a complete strike on April 13, besides staging a rally, for acceptance of their demands.
