RAWALPINDI, April 5: Three Pakistani nationals deported from the United States and the United Arab Emirates arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday, the immigration authorities said. They said Mir Alam was captured by the Abu Dhabi authorities on charges of over-staying, while Amir Hamza was taken into custody by the US authorities after his request for political asylum was rejected.

Mr Hamza had been in New York on a visit visa and had requested the US authorities for political asylum after his visa expired.

Likewise, Nazakat Ali was arrested by the UAE law-enforcement agencies on charges of over-staying. He was put behind bars and later deported to Pakistan.

According to the immigration authorities, the deportees were allowed to go after their statements were recorded at the Islamabad airport. The authorities said the three had not violated the immigration laws of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, a man having link with Balochistan Liberation Army and wanted by Pakistani law-enforcement agencies was extradited to Pakistan on Wednesday, Dawn has learnt.

A source said the man was identified as Ghazian Murree. He was captured by the Dubai police and extradited to Pakistan on Wednesday.

When the immigration authorities were contacted, they denied any such extradition, adding that the interior ministry might be knowing about it.
