KARACHI: A huge fire that broke out in a multi-storey commercial building on Sharea Faisal destroyed several offices of different companies on Sunday, rescue officials said.

They said that the blaze erupted on the third floor of Park Avenue due to a short circuit in the air-conditioning system.

The said that the fire spread through the AC duct and engulfed the whole third floor, damaging offices of around 10 companies.

Two fire tenders were sent to control the fire.

No casualty was reported as there were no employees in the building due to weekly holiday. Only guards were present who had already left the building as soon as they saw the fire.
