Missing: a dog with diamond

Published April 6, 2006

VIENNA, April 5: A millionaire in Vienna is offering a lucrative reward for the return of this man’s best friend: a little white dog with an unmistakable adornment — a diamond stud in its left ear. The reward for returning the flashy pouch called Grimaldi which disappeared last Thursday in central Vienna is a mix of cash and diamonds, valued at 98,000 dollars, the newspaper Heute reported.

The distraught owner, Herbert Handler, sobbing, told the paper : “I miss Grimaldi so much, she is all I have.”

Mr Handler is ready to be generous to the person who brings back Grimaldi. The reward would be a three-carat diamond from the jeweler Bulgari worth about $65,000 that the dog was wearing, along with $22,000 in cash, according to the free daily which claims it has 200,000 readers. So far no trace of the dazzling dog.

Mr Handler however has not given up hope. “The little one must be somewhere. Please, bring her back to me.” —AFP
