LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) was informed on Tuesday that “missing” PTI MPA Ahsan Riaz Fatyana had safely reached home.

Justice Ali Zia Bajwa was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Ashifa Riaz, the mother of the MPA, alleging that her son had been kidnapped by unidentified persons.

A law officer presented a report on behalf of the Lahore capital city police officer (CCPO), saying an FIR had been registered with Defence-C police station about the alleged kidnapping of the MPA.

However, the petitioner’s counsel, Tahir Abbas Bhatti, told the court that the MPA had reached home.

At this, the judge disposed of the petition.

The petitioner had pleaded that the MPA belongs to a political family as his father Riaz Fatyana is a seasoned politician. She said the whereabouts of her son were unknown.

She had asked the court to order the police to recover her son and present him before the court.
