Six engineers suspended

GILGIT, April 4: The Northern Areas administration has suspended five executive engineers and a resident engineer of the Public Works Department on the charge of committing irregularities while awarding and executing some development projects.

Those suspended are: superintending engineer, Northern Areas region, Mohammad Ghazi Khan; superintending engineer, Baltistan region, Wazir Muzaffar Abbas; superintending engineer, Diamer region, Mohammad Yaqub; executive engineer, Ghizer district, Hassamuddin; executive engineer, Hunza-Nagar subdivision, Ali Akbar Jan; executive engineer (water and power) Gilgit region, Rohullah; and resident engineer, Gilgit circle office, Abdul Samad.

The suspensions came after objections were recently raised by a sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee.
