KARACHI, April 4: Berthing activity was steady as three ships to load and offload containers, seeds and edible oil were berthed at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday. In the meantime, another vessel with edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 44 per cent as five ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil and seeds.

A cargo volume of 30,988 tons comprising 17,953 tons of import and 13,035 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Anvil Ponit and Temasek left the port while Socotra and Samho Jewelry were due to depart.

Two ships, Star Deam and Iran Borhan, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
