LAHORE, April 2: French mare, Chandni, stormed home to an easy victory to grab the PIA Cup run over 2000 metres during the Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse on Sunday. Owned by Khawaja M. Arif and trained by Haji Ghulam Sarwar, the grey mare Chandni beat English colt Banzine by three lengths to end his winning streak. Jockey M. Hanif rode the winner, who clocked two minute 4 3/5 seconds over the distance.

Trace Hit and Gujrati Babu completed the frame among six starters in this seventh race of the day.

Earlier in the fourth race Shoaib Tariq’s bay filly Ferrari comfortably won the Textile Cup contested over 1400 metres.

The filly trained by Haji Ghulam Sarwar and partnered by M. Hanif beat gelding Grey Swallow by three lengths.

The Bahria Town Cup run over 1600 metres was won by fancied Big Show defeating Valentine by four lengths. Sher-i-Gujrat and Motivator completed the frame among five runners left in the field after the last-minute withdrawal of Key Guy Doll.
