Youth injured on resistance

SAHIWAL, April 2: Bandits injured a youth on resistance and looted cash, ornaments and licensed arms worth around Rs3 million in separate incidents on Saturday night. Six gunmen entered the houses of Shahid Ali, Iftikhar and Manzoor in Chak 37/12-L. They scooped cash and arms valuing Rs2.7 million and fled. They later established a picket in the village for some four hours and deprived commuters of their valuables.

Three masked men sneaked into the house of Iqbal Javed in W Block of Scheme No 3. After holding family members at pistol point, they locked them in a room and disappeared after collecting cash, ornaments, guns and valuables worth Rs260,000.

Armed robbers deprived youth Tariq of Rs4,000 in cash. For offering resistance, robbers shot at and injured Tariq.

RECOVERED: Kassowal police on Sunday recovered a married woman, who was sold twice and raped repeatedly .

Reports said that ‘R’ had contracted marriage with Maqsood Ahmed some four years back and had a son. After expelling his wife from the house, Maqsood married another girl. Iqbal of Chak 116/7CR (Chichawatni) took ‘R’ to his house on the promise of marrying her. But the accused kept the woman for six months and had been raping her instead. Later, Iqbal sold her to some other person for Rs50,000, who kept her for a few days and raped her. She was again sold to one Shahbaz for Rs52,000.

Kassowal police recovered the victim woman and arrested accused Iqbal and Shahbaz after the registration of hudood cases.
