TOBA TEK SINGH: The Sargodha Road police station has been accused of electricity theft after connecting direct wires from the main supply line.

In a letter to the Faisalabad city police officer (CPO) on Monday, Faisalabad Electric Supply Company’s Muslim Town Sub-Divisional Officer Mubashir Hussain Larra said the police personnel at the station resort to stealing electricity whenever the power supply was disconnected due to non-payment.

The station owes an outstanding bill of Rs1.16 million, leading to a power cut. He asked the CPO to take action against those responsible and ensure the payment of the overdue amount.

BOOKED: Three Elite Force constables were booked on Monday for the murder of Ghulam Dastagir, a grade nine student, after a fake encounter during the Eid Miladun Nabi night in Jaranwala. Dastagir, along with his cousin Ali Kamran, a second-year student, was returning home on a motorcycle after watching a procession when they were shot at by the police officials.

Both cousins were seriously injured, and Dastagir succumbed to his injuries after a week in Jaranwala THQ Hospital.

The constables, including Rizwan, who has a prior murder case against him, were arrested.

Dastagir was an orphan and the only brother to three sisters.

ELECTROCUTED: A 15-year-old boy died after being electrocuted while working at a welding shop in Ghousia Colony, Mamukanjan, on Monday.

Reports state that Feroze Din was an apprentice at the shop when he touched a live wire, receiving a fatal electric shock. He died instantly at the scene.

ACCIDENT: Sixteen-year-old college student Talha Arshad died near Rajana on Samundri Road on Monday in a road accident.

Talha was on his way home to Chak 254 GB Soondh after attending classes at a private college in Toba when his motorcycle collided with another bike. He rushed to Rajana Rural Health Centre to be referred to DHQ Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
