PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa business community has demanded of the Federal Board of Revenue to take pragmatic steps for broadening the tax base and simplifying the collection system to facilitate the taxpayers.

The demand was made by a delegation of traders led by Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry coordinator Ziaul Haq Sarhadi during a meeting with the newly-appointed Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office, Peshawar, Yasir Ali, according to a statement issued here on Saturday.

The businessmen discussed different issues they were facing pertaining to tax collection and filing tax returns.

The RTO chief commissioner held out an assurance that all possible steps would be taken for resolution of problems being faced by the business community of the province. He assured that businessmen could contact him any time and he would try his utmost to provide maximum relief to them.
