SUKKUR, April 1: The deputy parliamentary leader of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, has said that the country’s solidarity and integrity have been put at stake due to wrong and pro-US policies of General Musharraf.

He was speaking at an annual Dastar-i-Fazilat gathering in Microwave colony here on Friday.

He said that America, India and Afghanistan were jointly fabricating conspiracies against Pakistan.

He said that General Musharraf was talking against jihad to make the US happy but he should know that it was not only against Islam but also against the interests of the army as jihad was the motto of the army.

Hafiz Hussain said that General Musharraf was violating the Constitution again and again while crossing his limits and he made it clear that the nation would not tolerate him any more.

Senator Khalid Mehmood Soomro said that western powers have joined hands against Islam and emphasized upon Muslims to foil their conspiracies.

He said that in the Senate, he had raised voice against price hike, Kalabagh dam and bulldozing of Sindhi villages in Karachi.

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Dr Soomro said that due to wrong policies of the rulers, Pakistan split into two and such policies were still prevailing.

He said that we were told that Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz was a great economist but with his installation as prime minister price hike was on the rise and prices of petroleum products, sugar and other commodities were rising continuously.

He demanded that the government should refrain from anti-labour policy and slash down prices of petroleum products, sugar and other daily use commodities. Strongly condemning bulldozing of Sindhi village in Karachi, he said that the builder mafia was behind the conspiracy.

He also demanded that the Sindh government should rehabilitate affected villagers and pay them compensation.
