MULTAN, March 31: Three alleged outlaws were shot dead in what Muzaffargarh police claimed a shootout took place in Khangarh area on Friday. Officials at the Khangarh police station said a raid was conducted in the Boleywahan village on a tip off that proclaimed offender Sharif Pahurr alias Sharifa was hiding there. He was wanted in a murder case.

However, the ‘outlaws’ opened fire on the police party. The police retaliated and a shootout ensued. After a short while, the guns from the criminals’ side became silenced. When searched, Sharifa and two others were found dead.

The accomplices of Sharifa were identified as Nawaz Pahurr and Ramzan Pahurr alias Punnu.

All the police officials who took part in the encounter remained unscathed dramatically.

Meanwhile, an alleged robber was killed and another man suffered critical injuries in an “encounter” in the Factory Area, Lahore on Friday night.

Police said four armed men stormed into the house of Rafiq. His brother Salim opened fire on the intruders who retaliated.

In the meantime, the police also rushed there. They opened fire, causing injuries to one of the miscreants. Salim also got a bullet injury. The other three robbers managed their escape.

The injured robber died on the spot. Salim was admitted to the Lahore General Hospital. His condition was stated to be critical.
