18 hurt in bus-truck collision

CHICHAWATNI, March 31: As many as 18 people, most of them of a wedding party, including the bridegroom, sustained severe injuries in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on the Lahore-Multan Road on Friday.

According to police, the bus was going to Vehari from Lahore when a speeding truck collided head-on with it. Bridegroom Naveed and 14 wedding party participants, including five women, besides the drivers and conductors of both the vehicles sustained injuries. They were shifted to the Chichawatni THQ Hospital.

Some of the injured have been identified as Nazir Bibi, Khalid and his wife Razia, Hanif, Nadeem, Javed, Maqboolan Bibi, Nasreen, Qudratullah, Imran, Afzal, Shahid, Karam Din and Allah Ditta.—APP
