ISLAMABAD: An inquiry conducted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has claimed that Justice Jahangiri “appeared in Karachi University LL.B. examinations on false identities…in order to conceal facts of being a UFM [unfair means]”.
According to sources, FIA conducted the inquiry on a private complaint against the judge’s degree and concluded in a report that he had used the enrolment number of Imtiaz Ahmed for obtaining the degree. It said that contrary to the candidate’s claim he was never a regular or ex-regular student of Islamia Law College, Karachi.
The FIA report stated that the judge “used and appeared in KU LL.B. examination on false identities having different enrolment numbers of Karachi University in collusion with university staff.
“He personified different other regular/ex-regular students of Islamia college i.e. Mohammad Naeem uddin son of Mohmmad Moin uddin and Imtiaz Ahmed.”
The report stated that the university declared the student UFM and awarded him the following penalty: “Result cancelled and further debarred for three years. Allowed to appear in the exam 1992.”
However, Islamabad High Court Bar Association President Riasat Ali Azad termed the FIA report part of a conspiracy hatched against the judge.
