KARACHI, March 31: Berthing activity was steady at the port where three ships to load and offload containers, rice and furnace oil were berthed during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 56 per cent as five ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice and furnace oil.

A cargo volume of 44,635 tons comprising 33,046 tons of import and 11,589 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was also active as CMA CGM Nilgai, Dubai and Islamabad left the port.

Three ships, Wadi Alrayan, Atlantic and Regent Park, were expected to take berths on Friday.
