TARBELA: The Tarbela Dam Reservoir water level has gone down by 100 feet since the depletion operation was undertaken, according to a WAPDA release issued here today [Sept 1]. … All instruments installed in the main dam, the two auxiliary dams and abutment indicate absolutely normal behaviour of the structure. The date was agreed by the Arab League Council’s Political Committee which opened its 62nd session here this morning. … The Political Committee further formed a sub-committee to deal with the Palestinian request that the Palestinian issue be raised at the United Nations. Earlier, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ismail Fahmi had said that Israel had the choice between war and peace.
