PESHAWAR, Feb 4: A leader of Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao), Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, has asked Pakhtoons to rally around former Chief Minister Aftab Sherpao for the attainment of their rights. He was of the opinion that only unity and determination could help redress their grievances.

He was speaking at a meeting of PPP Peshawar District at People’s House on Monday. The meeting finalized arrangements for the 27th death anniversary of former NWFP Governor, Hayat Muhammad Khan Sherpao.

Sikandar Sherpao deplored that Pakhtoons were passing through a very critical juncture and they should forge unity in their ranks to face the new challenges. He said the removal of uncertainty among Pakhtoons was in the greater interest of the federation.

The PPP leader paid glowing tribute to Hayat Sherpao for his services and sacrifices for the cause of the down-trodden people. He contended that Hayat Sherpao had not only instilled political awareness in the common people but also encouraged them to play a significant role in politics.
