LAKKI MARWAT: A man ended his life after shooting dead a young married woman and injuring her father-in-law over a dispute in Land Ahmadkhel area of Lakki Marwat district on Sunday.

Police said Shakirullah scaled the wall and entered the house of Ghulam Daud in the morning and tried to forcibly take away his daughter-in-law, 22. They said on resistance, the suspect opened fire on the young woman, injuring her seriously.

“When Daud moved forward to rescue his daughter-in-law the suspect also fired at and injured him,” they said.

They said later the attacker also shot himself dead with the same pistol.

The police said the injured woman succumbed to her injuries on the way to the Government City Hospital.

They said the bodies were handed over to the families after fulfilling medico-legal formalities. The police registered a case and began an investigation.

Separately, a teenage boy was shot at and injured over his refusal to a ‘forced friendship’ in Paharkhel Thall area of the district.

Injured Mohammad Hasaan, 19, told the city police that when he and his uncle, Hikmatullah reached house on a motorcycle Shakir Kamal, Sajjad and Farooq armed with weapons suddenly appeared on the scene, with Kamal opening fire at him, and leaving him injured.
