LAHORE: Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan says Arshad Nadeem has brought glory to the country by winning a gold medal in the Olympics.

“Arshad Nadeem is our hero. The whole nation is celebrating the success of Arshad Nadeem,” he said while addressing the ceremony organised in the honour of the gold medalist at the Governor House on Saturday.

The governor presented a cheque for Rs200,000 to Arshad besides a car key to his mother on behalf of the PPP government in Sindh. He was also given one-kanal plot by a private housing society and a 10-marla plot by another private scheme.

A cheque for Rs500,000 was also given to his coach, Salman Butt, by the Sindh government.

The governor also visited the house of PML-Q Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and inquired after him.
