QUETTA, March 28: Chief of the Balochistan National Party (Awami group) Senator Mir Israrullah Zehri has condemned the planting of a bomb at the Jam Palace in Lasbela and warned that such acts would have serious repercussions. In a statement issued here on Monday, Mir Zehri said that some elements were violating Balochistan’s traditions and values, adding that such unwise acts were not in the interest of the province.

He said that the Baloch people respected the house of the Jam of Lasbela, adding that no one would be allowed to violate the Baloch people’s code of ethics.

The nationalist leader said that no one could impose one’s political views on others by violence, adding that acts like the planting of bombs could lead to a dangerous game in which no one would be safe.

He said that his party was a strong supporter of President Musharraf’s development programme for Balochistan. He said that the president and his party shared ideological similarities for bringing about progressive changes in the tribal society to let the people play a positive role in social development.

Mir Zehri said that elements opposed to progress knew they could not counter pro-development forces politically so they were now resorting to subversive acts to obstruct the path of progress.

FC MEN INJURED: Four Frontier Corps troops were injured after their vehicle was hit by a landmine blast in the Chatter area of the Nasirabad district on Monday. Official sources said that the FC personnel were patrolling the Chatter area at the time of the incident.
