KOHAT: One coal minerwas killed while two others got injured due to landslide in the Ferozkhel area of Zarghunkhel in Kohat’s tribal tehsil of Darra Adamkhel in the wee hours of Thursday.

Rescue 1122 sources said that local volunteers helped them in retrieving all three victims after the natural disaster struck.

The injured minors were shifted to the Darra Adamkhel hospital where the doctors pronounced Akhtar Ali belonging to Shangla as dead.

The other two injured, Hamza Ali and Akhtar Zaman also hailing from Shangla were admitted to the hospital.

OPEN KUTCHERY: Highlighting the plethora of problems at an open kutchery, the elders of Darra Adamkhel demanded exemption from toll taxes at the Pak-Japan friendship tunnel.

Elders including Maliks Ghulam Rasool Afridi, Riaz Afridi, Yaqoob Afridi and others also demanded the provision of gas supply line to their area.

The open kutchery, chaired by Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah, heard the complaints of the tribesmen.

MNA, Sheharyar Afridi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Law Minister Aftab Alam, and notables of the area were also in attendance. Speaking on the occasion, the elders said that the tunnel was only two kilometres away from Dara Adam Khel, and toll tax on local people for passing through it couldn’t be justified.

The commissioner and the MNA said that the purpose of holding open kutchery was to get first-hand information about problems and issues being faced by the local residents. The commissioner said that problems that could be addressed locally would be solved immediately while others would be sent to provincial departments.
