Minor boy ‘tortured to death’

A woman allegedly tortured to death her stepson in the limits of Wah Saddar police on Thursday.

Police said Saima Bibi reported to the police that she contracted marriage with Naveed Akhter six years ago and had four sons. Few months ago, her husband contracted a second marriage with Seemyia Bibi and evicted her from the house. She said later she got divorce from her husband through a court and her three sons were illegally taken into custody by her former husband.

In the FIR registered on Thursday, she said she received a telephone call from her former in-laws informing her that her two and half years old son Saim Ali had expired suddenly. Police reached the spot and shifted the body to tehsil headquarters hospital Taxila for autopsy.
