LAHORE: The three-day Urs of sufi saint Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya Suharwardy concluded in Multan on Tuesday.

In the absence of custodian of shrine former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Makhdoomzada Zain Husain Qureshi presided over the National Zakariya Conference on the third day of the 785th annual Urs of Hazrat Ghaus Bahauddin Zakariya (RA).

Speaking on the occasion, Jamaat Ahle Sunnat Pakistan head Allama Syed Mazhar Saeed Kazmi criticised the government for unbridled inflation, making life unbearable for the public at large.

He expressed concern over the imprisonment of Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the spiritual leader/ custodian (Sajjada Nashin) of the shrine, whose incarceration has caused unrest among his followers.

Allama Kazmi condemned the violence in Gaza and urged Muslim leaders to unite and raise their voices against Israel’s oppressive actions.

Zain Qureshi lamented the absence of his father Shah Mahmood Qureshi during the Urs celebrations.
